Local Mechanical Contractor Donates Time and Money to The Destiny Foundation
ORLANDO, Fla., October 26, 2007 – At last night’s party, held in downtown Orlando and hailed as a “Celebration of Thanks and Giving,” Shaw Mechanical Services, LLC, thanked those who have helped make the Company’s first five years in business a success, and outlined its corporate giving alliance with The Destiny Foundation of Central Florida, a food assistance program for the working poor. David Shaw, president and founder of the mechanical services company, outlined a three-point charitable plan that includes: • A Significant Monetary donation • 80 hours of annual Paid-Volunteer-Time for Shaw’s employees to work at the Foundation • Free comprehensive full maintenance service for the 72 tons of HVAC equipment at the Foundation’s 35,000-square-foot complex
These three components of “Treasure, Time and Talent” represent a $15,000 annual investment from SMS to The Destiny Foundation.
“We selected The Destiny Foundation because this dynamic organization is changing the lives of the working poor in our own community by giving them a hand and not a hand-out,” said Shaw. “We share many of these same values so it’s an honor to be working with Pastor George and his team.”
The Destiny Foundation, founded in 2001 by Pastor Scott George, was created to allow the working poor to invest sweat equity in the Foundation’s grocery store in exchange for the ability to reduce their monthly food budget. Please visit www.battlehunger.org for more information.
