Welbro Selects Shaw Mechanical for Private School Project
ORLANDO, Fla., February 8, 2008 – Welbro Building Corporation, a general contractor, selected Shaw Mechanical Services, LLC to provide mechanical contracting for the Harriett Coleman Center for the Arts on the campus of Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando, Fla. Shaw’s $1.5 million contract for installation of underground chilled water piping, a 500-ton centrifugal chiller at the facility’s central energy plant, three custom dual-path outside air dehumidification indoor climate changers as well as ductwork and piping for the three-story, 29,200-square-foot building. According to David L. Shaw, president, Shaw Mechanical Services, work will be completed this summer.
The state-of-the-art facility is comprised of a proscenium theater with balcony and a sprung dance floor, black box theater, three-level lobby, box office, gallery space as well as theatrical acoustics and lighting. Winter Park, Fla.-based Rogers, Lovelock& Fritz, Inc. provided master planning to Lake Highland Preparatory School as well as architecture and engineering for the new auditorium.
