Mark Construction Picks Shaw Mechanical to Cool School
ORLANDO, Fla., April 10, 2008—Mark Construction Company, a Longwood, Fla.-based general contractor, has awarded a $700,000 contract to Shaw Mechanical Services, LLC for mechanical contracting services for the construction of the Lake Mary Elementary School Intermediate Center in Lake Mary, Fla. Self-performing the chilled water piping and sheet-metal work, the Shaw team will install 140 tons of dedicated air cooled chillers, central station climate changers and an automated control system.
The two-story, 82,446-square-foot classroom building was designed by SchenkelShultz Architecture of Orlando, Fla., for Seminole County Public Schools. Completion is scheduled for the summer of 2008.
Educational projects completed or under construction by Shaw Mechanical Services in the past year include Rollins College, Valencia Community College, University of Central Florida, Lake Highland Preparatory School, Avalon Elementary Relief School, Princeton Elementary School and Mascotte Elementary School.
